The Baseline
A sixty-minute assessment and a written report for men 45 to 65.
Four opinions. One assessment.
What is The Baseline?
The Baseline is a sixty-minute remote assessment with Dr. LaMar Sheppard, followed by a written report within five business days. It costs $497 in California and $697 elsewhere, credited in full against Foundation 90 if you start within 30 days.
You have had four opinions. You have never had one assessment.
A trainer looked at your squat. A physical therapist looked at your shoulder. A surgeon looked at your scan. A physician looked at your labs once a year for eleven minutes. Each of them saw a piece, none of them saw the file, and the same injury keeps coming back on the same schedule.
The Baseline is sixty minutes and a written report that answers three questions properly: what is actually limiting you, what is driving it, and what has to change first.
What you get
Five things, in writing.
- A review of your records before we speak. Any imaging and bloodwork you already have, read in advance rather than glanced at on the call.
- A sixty-minute consult. Your injury history, range-of-motion observation, how you actually sleep, eat, and travel, and what you intend to still be doing at seventy.
- A written Baseline Report within five business days. The primary limiter named and explained, the secondary contributors ranked, your starting numbers recorded, and what has to change in what order.
- The specific markers to request on your next blood panel, each one with the reason it is on your list rather than somebody else’s.
- A fifteen-minute follow-up to walk through the report and answer what it raises.
Two options
The difference in price is the summary for your physician.
I am licensed in California, so for clients here I can request imaging myself. For everyone else I prepare a written summary for your own physician, which is a document that takes real work to get right. It is more work, not less, and that is the whole of the difference.

It comes off the program
Finding out costs you nothing if you continue.
If you go on to start Foundation 90 within thirty days, the full cost of your Baseline is credited against it. That applies whether you pay in full or monthly.
So the decision in front of you is not whether to spend five hundred dollars. It is whether to find out what is actually going on before you commit to anything, knowing that finding out costs you nothing if you continue.
Who this is for
Men in their late forties, fifties, and early sixties who still train, still compete at something, and are quietly organising their calendar around a joint that will not cooperate. Usually men who have already paid several people and are tired of being handed one piece of the answer at a time.
Who it is not for
- Anyone looking for a workout plan. This is an assessment, and it will tell you things you may not want to hear.
- Anyone in an acute medical situation. If that is where you are, you need a physician first, and I will tell you so on the call rather than take your money.
- Anyone who wants a diagnosis. A remote assessment produces findings and a direction, not a diagnosis, and I will not pretend otherwise.
Who is doing the assessing
Dr. LaMar Sheppard, DC
I am a licensed chiropractor. I have been in practice since 2018 and have completed more than ten thousand patient sessions. I am also the person who writes the training, which is the reason this assessment can look at your shoulder and your squat and your sleep and your bloodwork as one problem rather than four separate appointments.
I train the way I program: three days of compound lifting, three days of Zone 2, and a week arranged so that I can still ride, golf, and get on the mountain. I competed until I was thirty-five and have spent the years since working out how to keep that capacity rather than reminisce about it.
