What ten thousand patient visits taught me.
After more than 10,000 patient visits, I noticed a pattern. The patients who recovered in one to three visits were managing their sleep, exercise and nutrition outside of treatment. The ones who needed ongoing care usually weren’t.
So I built Doctor of Strength as a virtual clinic for the part that happens between visits: exercise, nutrition and recovery, held together by one person who can read the whole file.
I’ve been the patient
An athlete first.
As a former athlete, I’ve had shoulder, knee and ankle injuries that needed acupuncture, physical therapy and chiropractic care. I know what it is to organise a season around a joint.
I competed until I was thirty-five, and I’ve spent the years since learning how to keep that capacity. I train the way I program: three days of compound lifting built on squats, deadlifts and presses, three days of Zone 2, and a calendar arranged so I can still ride, golf and get on the mountain.
The clinical side
Reading the whole file.
My chiropractic training covers blood panels and diagnostic imaging, including CT, X-ray and MRI studies. My focus is injury rehab, reviewing diagnostic studies, and exercise prescription.
Since 2019 I’ve served as an expert witness in about 200 workers’ compensation cases. That work taught me how the healthcare system actually handles an injury, and where it tends to drop it. It is why care coordination is part of the program: your physician, orthopedist and rehab provider working from one picture.
