Training while you travel

A travel version of every phase: forty minutes with a hotel rack, eating through airports and client dinners, and coming back without losing the thread.

What is training while you travel at Doctor of Strength?

Every phase of Doctor of Strength's program has a travel version: a forty-minute session for a hotel gym with a rack and two dumbbells, a no-gym option for the room, a plan for eating through airports and client dinners, and a way back into the normal week.

Nothing assumes an unbroken week

Your schedule changes quickly and you are on the road more than you would like. A program that only works in a quiet week is a program for a life you do not have.

So every phase has a travel version, decided before the trip rather than invented jet-lagged at six in the morning.

What is included

  • A forty-minute hotel-gym session for a rack and two sets of dumbbells
  • A no-gym version for the room
  • Eating on the road: airports, conference lunches and client dinners
  • Sleep across time zones: wake time, daylight and a ten-minute wind-down
  • Coming back: a short session the day you get home, so the week does not restart on Monday

Why it matters

Consistency through disruption is the actual skill being taught, and it is the one that decides whether you are still doing this in five years. Official guidance agrees that short work counts: the 2018 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans dropped the old rule that activity had to come in ten-minute blocks.

The full hotel session is in the forty-minute hotel gym plan.

Questions

About training while you travel

Is a forty-minute hotel session enough?

On the road the goal is to keep the pattern going, not to set records. A well-built forty-minute session covering a squat, hinge, push, pull and carry is enough to hold strength through a travel week.

What if there is no gym?

There is a room version with bodyweight and a loaded backpack, plus a brisk walk outside for conditioning and morning daylight.

How do you handle client dinners?

Protein first, vegetables where you can, and a decision on alcohol made before the wine list arrives.

When do the travel protocols start?

In Foundation 90 they go live in the second phase, days 31 to 60, and every phase after that has a travel version.

No assessment and no pitch, just whether this is a fit. If it is not, I will say so.
